>> Saturday, July 12, 2008

My first time to play along on Four Foods on Friday! I love food. So, when I saw this Friday meme online. I was so eager to join and be a part of this Friday meme.

Here were the four questions for this week.

#1. Cake. Buttercream, whipped cream or ice cream?
~ I would rather have an ice cream with my cake! hmmm....

#2. When entertaining do you use real, paper, plastic or styrofoam dishes?
~ I rather used paper or styrofoam dishes, it's easy to dispose. :)

#3. When hosting a party do you cook, have it catered or go to a restaurant?
~ Mostly, I cooked. But it depends on how many guests. But mostly, we just rather go to a restaurant.

#4. Share a recipe that you frequently serve when having a party.
Depends on where […]
Mostly, whenever there's an occasions, events, or party, I just rather make a dessert.
They called it, Mango Float.

MANGO FLOAT

This dessert doesn't float, but the one eating it surely will! It is delicious and creamy. You have to use sweet ripe mangoes otherwise you can substitute canned peaches. Very easy to make!

1 cup heavy cream, chilled
2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk, chilled
1/2 cup mashed ripe mango
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Thin slices of ripe mangoes
Graham Crackers

Blend cream and sweetened condensed milk together. Add mashed mango. Add vanilla. Set aside, preferably keeping it chilled until needed. (You may opt to use more sweetened condensed milk for a sweeter taste).

In a square 9 x 9-inch or a rectangular 9 x 13-inch Pyrex or any transparent dish, assemble graham crackers and cream mixture by arranging the crackers on the bottom of the dish.

Spread one third of the cream mixture, arrange some mango slices, then put another layer of the crackers. Repeat the process, ending with the cream mixture on top.

Chill before serving.

Thanks for the recipe. I have a couple of mangos and I've been struggling for what to do with them before they go bad. Good excuse to get some cream in *L*
